Mississauga Marathon

The Mississauga Marathon is a run that encompasses much of Mississauga's beauty. This point to point course is a fast net downhill. The course starts at Mississauga's City Hall, and makes its way west across the Credit River to Mississauga Road and then travels south for a beautiful stretch past the University of Toronto's Mississauga Campus, Mississauga Golf and Country Club, and continues through some of Mississauga's most beautiful residential neighbourhoods, before winding along the scenic Lake Ontario Waterfront Trail, and back along Lakeshore Rd. to Lakefront Promenade Park.

The fast and flat 10 kilometre trail circuit around Elk and Beaver Lakes is considered as one of the premiere races of its type in North America. Runners complete 10 laps for the 100K division, 8+ laps for 50 Miles and 5 laps for 50K while walkers complete 4 laps for 40 km. First-Time Marathoners will complete 4+ laps.
The venue is all trails, very flat, has good footing, and is in excellent condition. Definitely a runner-friendly, P.R. type course!

The Spruce Woods Ultra race is unlike any other event in the province. First, it?s tough. Although it?s a run in the park, it is unlike any other run in the park you?ve seen in Manitoba. OK, so it?s not ?up-a-mountain? tough like what you?ll find out west, but with over 1800 feet of climbing in 26.2 miles and a few more in the 50km, that Bishop Grandin bridge you might have ran on Father?s Day will be put in it?s place like the minor bump that it is.Second, tough as it is, it is fun on the trails. This is a race put on for runners by runners. No worries about traffic unless a herd of deer happen to cross the trail in front of you.

After a very successful first year on the new course, which encompasses much of the downtown core, the Scotiabank Fredericton Marathon and the City of Fredericton is pleased to announce that it will hold the 37th annual marathon and all other distances on the same route as last year. 2014 brought us a 25% increase in participants over 2013.
The course will continue to utilize the City's vast trail system while also highlighting some of the picturesque residential architecture in Fredericton. The marathon course is Boston certified, and continues to draw athletes who want to achieve a qualifying time on this very flat and fast course.

Typhoons, earthquakes, severe conditions of heat and humidity, severe cold temperatures of minus 5 degrees C. with wind chill factor of ?32 degrees C. are the only reasons to cancel and none of these conditions are likely to occur here.

The Saskatchewan Marathon is sanctioned by Sask Athletics and is a qualifier for the Boston Marathon.
