As you enter the lovely District of Ucluelet, you will be thrilled to know, youre almost finished. The race finishes in front of the District of Ucluelet municipal hall, which is a stones throw from the Whiskey Dock, our main working dock in the Ucluelet Harbour. We hope you stick around and enjoy the local sites. Right across the road from the finish line is the Ucluelet Aquarium and for the marathon runners, you probably want to take a stroll along the Wild Pacific Trail.

A new route for 2013! Gone is the long steep hill on George Fox Trail and the lonely running on the gravel road! The new route heads west from the Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre on the red shale pathways along the Bow River. At 4km it crosses the Bow River and continues along the pathways through the neighbourhoods of Bow Meadows, Crawford Ranche and Bow Ridge. The route crosses the Bow River again at kilometer 12 and then heads west along the Bow River pathways before turning around and coming straight back to the Spray Lakes Sawmills Family Sports Centre.

Since its design by Fred Dawson in 1980, the 2nd year of the Manitoba Marathon, and it has been the site of past Canadian Marathon and Masters Championships as well as the site of the 1999 Pan American Games Marathons.

The course is closed to traffic on paved roads with a hard packed dirt road crossing the marsh, and 200 volunteers to support you. We have free child care provided by the Cumberland YMCA, lots of showers and locker rooms at the Amherst Stadium, shelters and porta-potties at the start line, more porta-potties and five first aid stations on the course, and a huge buffet and BBQ at the finish.

Starting at West Quoddy Head Lighthouse in the USA the gently rolling course offers miles of water and harbor views. Crossing from the USA to Canada by way of the FDR Memorial Bridge the course takes runners around the Mulholland Light and past the FDR Summer Home in the Roosevelt Campobello International Park. Turning in the scenic fishing village of Wilson's Beach, on Campobello Island, the course retraces its steps back across the bridge to finish along Water Street at the Lost Fishermen's Memorial Park in the heart of Lubec.
