Aug 14, 2011 08:00 Delta Half Delta, BC
For several years, the Delta Ground Pounders Running Club developed and proudly organized one of the first half marathon runs in the Lower Mainland. After numerous new running events prospered, the Delta Half Marathon was in jeopardy of being cancelled. Team Coastal Cycling Club is a fixture in the 3 communities of Delta. The active cycling club has many members that run for triathlons and cross training. We saw it fit to maintain Delta history and continue the fun local run. We have added a 5 km distance and involved our local North Delta Rotary Club to cook a great pancake breakfast. The run was re-introduced with a new certified course in 2007. It has been described by previous entrants as a great PB course. For your entry fee, we feel we offer great value on a personal best course that is flat and fast. Proceeds from the run are donated to North Delta Rotary Club to help with local projects and Team Coastal Cycling Club to support a youth program for learning to ride and race. We thank you for your support with our causes and hope we can share in your athletic endeavours!
