The route is a popular one, taking participants through majestic areas that showcase the amazing scenery and historic aspects of Fernie. Come enjoy a run through the Elk Valley and take in the refreshing mountain air and fall colours.

Described as flat and fast by National Level Coach Peter Pimm, this October 2nd expect a warm welcome from the residents of Prince Edward County as you run our fully closed course down the main streets of Wellington, Bloomfield, and Picton.

The racing course presents a mostly flat elevation profile. The only noticeable exception occurs at the 17th and 25th km where the course rises up to an elevation of roughly 10 metres above mean sea level.

The Ottawa Fall Colours Marathon and Ottawa Fall Colours Half Marathon have received official certification by Athletics Canada and Run Canada and are considered official distance events. The course was measured and certified by Bernie Conway, National Course Certifier, IAAF Grade A Measurer, and USATF/RRTC Final Signatory. We have something for everyone, and the setting for the runs, is the Cumberland Heritage Village Museum in Ottawa. It is a turn-of-the-century village with all the trappings we need to make this Thanksgiving extravaganza one with a Canadian heritage flavour. It's right here in Ottawa, but in a true country setting and rural estate home courses. The elements of the classic big city marathons will be there, with an intimate humble, country Thanksgiving flavour. Enjoy a run (or walk!) at your distance, and at your speed, through a countryside of estate homes, farms and magnificent views - at the 2011 Ottawa Fall Colours Runs.

Starting in Bloomfield Ridge and proceeding along secondary road to Hampton and onto Rte 100, the course turns into Nauwigewauk Loop and back on hwy, then into Darlings Island Loop and back onto hwy, over Hammond River Bridge and right onto Hampton Rd and Gondola Pt. Arterial to Gondola Pt. and left onto Gondola Pt. Road to Rothesay Corner and the Rothesay Rd. The finish line is at the Renforth Community Center in Rothesay. Relay points are at the 3 quarters marks. The half finishes at Hammond River.

Since 2000, AstraZeneca Legs for Literacy has grown into the largest running event in New Brunswick. Last year approximately 1,500 runners in total registered in four events: full marathon, half marathon, 10k and 5k. Another 400 school-aged children competed in our Go For 42 kids fun run, which encourages children at the elementary and middle school levels to make healthy physical activity a part of their daily routine.

The first 6.5km (4 miles) of the race travel the majestic parkways of Buffalo before crossing the Peace Bridge into the historic old town of Fort Erie, Ontario. The Niagara Falls International Marathon celebrated its inaugural running in 1974. The race was known as the Skylon Marathon. Beginning during the first wave of the North American running boom, it quickly became a favourite as it was, and still is, the only marathon in the world that starts in one country and finishes in another? a destination marathon that crosses an international border, providing the runners with an experience of a lifetime. The Marathon course is a Boston Qualifier.
